Kobe part of amazing judge cast for Slam dunk competition

Kobe part of amazing judge cast for Slam dunk competition
Kobe won the slam dunk championship in Cleveland in 1997 as a rookie. Ten years and more than 18 000pts later, Kobe came back to the event ... but as a judge.

He will sit next too JORDAN, WILKINS, Dr J & VINSANITY!!

Maybe for the 1st time in the competition history, we will spend more time to watch the judges than the players.

This year, Nate Robinson will defend his title vs the "too tall for the contest" Dwight Howard and the unknown Tyrus Thomas.
The only satisaction comes from the participation of high flyer Gerald Green. He had my vote.

To avoid 15 tries like the Nate Robinson-type last year, every guy will have to make his dunk within 2 minutes.

Too bad the judges don't compete. It would have been the greatest slam dunk contest of all time... ok actually only Kobe & Vince can still jump.

Kobe-Arenas, part 2; Mamba gets his revenge

Kobe-Arenas, part 2; Mamba gets his revenge
The last time they meet, Arenas scored a franchise record 60pts on Kobe and the Lakers, 16 of those came in the OT where Kobe tried to slow Arenas. "Agent Zero" outshined Kobe's 45pts and the Wizards get a 147-141 win at Staples.

This time, nobody reached the 40pt mark, but KB got clearly his revenge and outplayed Arenas. His 39pts lead the way for the Lakers which got a 118-102 victory over the Wizards.

Arenas poured in 37 but missed 20 of his 29 shots, while Kobe was 14 of 26. KB added 6asts for L.A, which is now 29-19. One more win to reach the 30win plateau. Last year, L.A entered the all star break with a 22-22 record.

Asking if he was in "revenge mode", Kobe said: ""At this point in my career, it's not something that really excites me. What's exciting is coming into this building after we dropped a game last night, and coming here and playing well."

Contrary of what he has done in the past, Kobe didn't overshadow his teammates with a personnal motivation, as he played for the rest of the team once again.
Six Laker players scored at least 12pts. Smuch and Lamar combined for 39pts, and Bynum had a double double with 12pts & 13boards.

It's time to start a win streak before the all star break, and tommorow at normally a BAD team Atlanta seems right. You have to beat the bad teams too guys!!!!

Lakers struggle at Indiana

Lakers struggle at Indiana
We though that L.A would start a win streak after the win against the Celtics, but once again, L.A struggled to win vs a less better team.

After scoring 43pts, Kobe made an off performance with 22pts, missing 18 of his 25 shots.
And for the 4th straight time at Indiana, the Pacers get the victory over the Lakers 95-84.

L.A was ahead by 9 in the 4th yet, but Indiana used a 17-2 run to get the win. Smush finished the game with 20pts, but L.A committed 20 turnovers and shot 38% from the field.

Nothing really to say about the game, but it's disapointed. Unlike Phoenix, which have only won once in 8 times vs the West best teams (L.A, San Antonio, Utah & Dallas), L.A is capable to win vs the best and lose vs the Bobcats 2 times, vs the Grizzlies and New Orleans for exemple.

If L.A want to be at the same level as the Dallas, San Antonio or Phoenix, Kobe & co have to win those "easy" games, to start a great streak like Phoenix or Dallas did.

We'll see tonight at Washington in the rematch or last time showtime, which saw Arenas outscored Kobe 60-45. KB24 said he will be ready next time..we'll see.

Kobe returns with a vengeance as Boston fans chant "MVP"

Kobe returns with a vengeance as Boston fans chant "MVP"
It definitely looked weird last night when we heard "MVP" in Boston. Especially for a someone who play for the Lakers.

Kobe came back after a one game suspension and gave the fans something to cheer, scoring 43pts as L.A won at Boston 111-98, the 1st W since Odom returned from injury.

KB24 scored 16pts in the 1st half, then took over in the 3rd with 15pts including a long three to beat the buzzer. With a signature dunk at the end of the game, a baseline windmill jam, and 3 three pointer, the fans began to chant "Kobe" and "MVP".

Kobe finished the game with 43pts 8rbds & 8asts, with a great 7/9 behind the three point line: "When you miss a game, you come back with a new energy. I was just really excited to be out there playing. Gary Vitti was in there telling me how shocked he was, that he heard an 'M.V.P.' chant here in Boston. But I really appreciated it."

All five starters scored in double figures, lead by Smuch'18pts. Ronnie played great with almost a double double (9pts 10rbds).

Next game is at Indiana, the 3rd of L.A 8 game road trip.

Kobe suspended as Knicks beat L.A

Kobe suspended as Knicks beat L.A
Kobe was suspended by the NBA for hitting Ginobili in the face at the end of last game vs the Spurs. While everybody seemed to agree on the fact it wasn't intentional, the league saw the incident differentely.

Kobe was "shoked" to hear he was unable to play his only game at Madison Square Garden of the season, claiming he accidentely threw an elbow at Ginobili: " I've been waiting to play here. It's always been a fun place for me to play here, and I'm surprised. Shocked, by it, actually".
We heard boos from Knicks fans when the speaker told Kobe was suspended for the game.

"I unintentionally caught Manu Ginobili. What do you say? It's a basketball game. You unintentionally catch people with elbows every once in a while. I'm blown away by it. I really am. It just makes no sense. It's just unintentional. It's just basketball, it happens."

And without their superstar, L.A was unable to find a way to win the game. New York beat the Lakers 99-94.
Odom lead L.A with 25pts 9rbds 6asts, which has droped his last three games for the first time this season. Radmanovic played well with 18pts & 9rbds.
