Kobe explodes for season best 65

Kobe explodes for season best 65
13 losses in 16 games. Injuries. Suspension. Being called a dirty player.

Kobe just took all his anger & frustration last night and exploded for 65pts, the most for a player this season. It was Kobe 2nd highest scoring game and the 5th in Lakers history.

KB24 was beyond clutch and amazed again, remembering all of those who critized him lately who's the greatest of all. He drilled a three pointer with 17sec in regulation, forcing overtime and giving him 56pts.

He added 9 more in the extra period and L.A snapped a 7 game losing streak with a 116-111 victory over Portland.

"I had to come out aggressive and assert myself, just because our confidence was a little shaky. We needed a breakout game. And it's my job as a leader to kind of read what we need as a team. And sometimes, me taking over games like this instills confidence in us all", Kobe said.

The reigning scoring champion made 23 of 39 shots including 8/12 behinid the 3pt line. His 65pt outburst gave him a big boost in the scoring race. Now Melo is only ahead by 0,1pt (29,8 vs 29,7), and Kobe can capture his 2nd scoring title.

But the W is the most important and with Lamar and Luke back, L.A is trying to regain their level of before injuries, in order to make some noise in the playoffs.

Randolph, who led his team with 31pts said: "Kobe Bryant made big shots. He made tough shots. If he would have missed one, it probably would have given us a chance.''

P.Jackson said: "That finish was incredible. They couldn't keep the ball out of Kobe's hands, and they couldn't keep him from putting that ball in the hoop. He knocked those 3-pointers down. It was remarkable.''

Kobe scored 23pts in the 4th quarter, but was hot throughout the game, making though fadeways and three pointers. Ironically, his best play didn't count. Kobe stole the ball fom Roy, who immediately fouled him to prevent an easy basket. But Kobe made the basket tough...one thing...he fired the shot from mid court.

We all hope with this amazing and dramatic performance in L.A, the Lakers will be back on track. Next game is vs Minesota.

Kobe, Lakers lose again...this time in Denver

Kobe, Lakers lose again...this time in Denver
A month ago, P.Jackson had never lost more than 5 games in a row. Last night, he just had his 2nd worst loosing streak of his career in less than a month.

L.A dropped his 7 straight game after losing 6 consecutives near the all star break. Kobe scored 25pts in L.A 113-86 loss in Denver.

Back in Colorado, KB was enable to avoid another tough loss. L.A dropped his 5 previous games by an average of 24,75pts!

The good news was the come back of Odom & Walton after so many missed games. Lamar was clearly out of rythm scoring only 9pts on 4/11. Walton added 13.

L.A, which dropped the 3rd quarter by 17, is now tied with Denver for the 6th seed in the West. Kobe said: "The third quarter it just caved in on us. With Lamar back, we saw flashes of what we're capable of in the first half. We just have to build on that and understand that that's the team we want to make noise with in the playoffs."

P.Jackson was fined 50 000$ today after his comments about Kobe suspension. He spoke about "witch hunt" but wasn't expected to get fined: "I thought you only get fined for criticizing the officiating".

L.A now returns to Staples to play Portland.

L.A dropps 3 more games, including a tough one vs Dallas

L.A dropps 3 more games, including a tough one vs Dallas
It was a tough week for L.A. First, Kobe was suspended for one game after hitting Jaric in the face like he did vs Ginobili. Kobe claimed it was not intentional but Stu Jackson saw the accident differentely, warning KB there would be multiple game suspension next time he hits someone else.

With Kobe, Lamar, Walton, Radmanovic & Ronny sidelined, L.A dropped a 110-90 contest vs the Bucks. After a poor performance for both of the players, Evans & Cook got a little bit of revenge in this game, with a combined 18 of 32 for 42pts.

After a one game suspension, Kobe came back in his hometown and seemed to get his revenge like he did in Boston this season. Scoring 21pts in the first 17 minutes, KB was on his way to have a great game. But after taking some rest in the 2nd quarter, he was quite not the same. With defense collapsing on him, Kobe shot just 3 of 14 in the 2nd half, finishing the game with 30pts. Philadelphia won over L.A 108-92.
P.Jackson said: When we get our personnel back, we'll be fine," coach Phil Jackson said.

Dallas is the best team by far and they showed the struggling Lakers what they're made of. Again without two of their starters, L.A dropped the game by 36, the worst loss in L.A in more than 40 years.
Kobe scored 25 pts on 6 of 19 and was unable to avoid a 6 straight loss, dropping a 108-72 decision vs Dallas.
Kwame, who returned lately for L.A scored 10pts - the most by a Laker other than Kobe. L.A shot less than 37%, Smush was ejected early in the game for L.A which now is 33-31.

Lakers loses in Minesota in double OT

Lakers loses in Minesota in double OT
L.A dropped his 3rd straight game last night. Despite 40pts from Kobe, the Lakers lost 117-107 vs the Wolves.

Minesota took control in the 2nd OT with a 12-2 edge, giving L.A his 3rd consecutive loss.
Kobe lead his team on both ends of the floor with 40pts 13rbds & 7asts. But he shot just 13/30 from the floor including 3/10 behind the arc.

Kobe said:"We have to learn how to close these games out, especially defensively. We can't give guys open looks, no matter who it is." Kobe scored just 3pts after regulation.

Smush tried to help KB with 24pts but L.A shot less than 40% in the game. Evan & Cook missed 20 of their combined 26 shots.

Kobe hit accidentely Jaric in the face while still in the air after taking a shot - a similar play occured vs Ginobili a couple of weeks ago and Kobe got a one game suspension.

Lakers enable to keep the good streak, falling to Sacramento & Phoenix

Lakers enable to keep the good streak, falling to Sacramento & Phoenix
It seems to be particulary tough for L.A to put a good winning streak. L.A season's best is four. And at the same time, Dallas tries to win his 15th straight game.

L.A was enable to keep his winning pace vs the Kings, dropping a 116-108 meeting on Friday night.

Kobe scored 30pts and added 10asts for L.A, which unsuccessfully tried to complete a rally in the 4th quarter. L.A lost despite shooting over 52% from the field, but committed 19 turnovers. Odom scored 26pts and Mckie added 12.

It appeared that L.A main problem wasn't about scoring: "I am frustrated that we can't play defense as a team. We have the athletic ability and the height. We should be a much better team", said Lamar.

Kobe agreed: "It was just a bad defensive performance in the first half, giving up that many points. We allowed them to set the tone by coming out and getting off to a 10-0 start. It's tough to get off to that kind of start."

We could feeled some playoffs atmosphere on the court last night as Phoenix hosted the Lakers for last year 1st round battle rematch.

And once again, Phoenix got the W, but it wasn't easy. L.A and the Suns responded to eachothers throughout the 1st half, before Phoenix surged in the 3rd, and managed to get a 99-94 win over L.A.

However, the Lakers were competitive the entire game and were able to slow Phoenix quick pace, despite playing without Odom, Radmanovic & Walton.

Kobe shot just 11/28 for 30pts for L.A, which saw a great game from Cook (22pts 14rbds).
Odom didn't play last night after being injured on his shoulder (the same injury which forced him to miss the last 2month of the 2004-2005 season.)

The only good news for L.A at the moment came from Kobe, who's now at the 2nd place of the best scorers. He's averaging 29per contests, just behind Melo (30,4pts). Kobe can get his 2nd straight scoring title, but what we currently want the most are wins.
